Canyoning

Canyoning is an activity of the mountain that has developed from the need to overcome natural obstacles in canyons, rivers and streams.
Many of the techniques used today were created by the explorer Edouard Alfred Martel, considered the father of canyoning. The first competitions of the sport took place in the late 70th and since then this practice has gained even more fans.
This activity is sought by fans of adventure that associate with other mountain activities and those seeking an alternative daily stress and a closer contact with nature.
In Madeira, the practitioners of this activity are mostly practitioners of various sports such as mountain climbing, trekking and Guideline.
Some clubs mountain sports provide induction courses and equipment for this activity allowing anyone to do it.

Climbing

A sport climbing is an activity derived from the mountain that emerged in the 80's. This underlines their movements quick and athletic.

Surf

Surfing is a sport with its origins in Polynesia. Became known in Europe around 1778 be an English explorer called James Cook when he reached the Hawaiian Island.
